Lidlox, LLC was founded in November 2014 by Matt Mrdeza. Matt is an Aerospace engineer who worked as an aircraft design configurator at Northrop Grumman Corporation in their advanced design group. Matt transitioned from aerospace into product design with a design consultancy firm in Orange County, CA. After a few years, Matt went independent, performing both aerospace and product design contracts. Matt then Co-Founded a motorcycle parts company called Kewlmetal, where the original Lidlox-style helmet lock was invented and patented in 2004. The original Lidlox was a bar end lock and an instant hit, selling thousands of units. Kewlmetal focused more on custom choppers, where the original bolt-on chopper kit was invented and patented. The helmet lock, although successful, was lost in the crowd. Matt launched Lidlox, LLC to expand the bar end lock concept across all motorcycles and give the product its brand. The idea was expanded to include the bolt mount style lock, Lidlox's most popular lock. Between Kewlmetal and Lidlox, there have been over 100,000 units sold since the beginning. Lidlox now sells on its website worldwide, on Amazon, and to an extensive dealer network. Lidlox has grown in the motorcycle market such that the US trademark office acknowledged it as enough of a recognizable brand to be granted the trademark Lidlox in the primary trademark register. It is a challenging feat, as it takes six years of history to apply. As such, Lidlox is now a registered brand on Amazon.
